New Captive Port proposal from Adhunik Metals

Shortly after Arcelor Mittal, Adhunik Metals have also made a proposal to the state government to set up a captive port north of Mahanadi river, Jambu at Barunei Muhan 30 kms north of Gahirmatha. The company plans to set up a all weather commercial port with an investment of Rs. 16840 million. The project will come up in two phases, 10 mtpa cargo handling by 2016 and 30 mtpa by the time it is commissioned in 2021. Around 5.25 mtpa of import cargo handled will be captive while this will go up to 9.26 mtpa by 2016.
