Paradip Port

GAIL plans LNG terminal in Paradip port

GAIL is planning to set up an offshore LNG terminal in Paradip port in the state of Orissa. The company has signed an MoU with the Paradip port to implement the project. The capacity of the LNG terminal in the first phase will be 4 mtpa. It may be noted, GAIL is already setting up a Surat-Paradip pipeline project.

Paradip Port to expand its capacity

Paradip Port is being expanded with an investment of Rs. 31410 million by the centre. The capacity of the port will increase from 76 million tpa to 133 million tpa. The expansion activities will include second and third single point mooring (SPM) by IOCL and a southern oil jetty, deep draft iron ore berth, coal berth of 10 million tpa. The SPM's are scheduled to be completed by 2012, oil jetty by 2013. The berth are to be built on BOT basis

Paradip Port Trust to develop satellite port at Bahuda Mohana

Paradip Port Trust is planning to develop a satellite port in Bahuda Mohana near Berhampur in Ganjam district of Orrisa. Land required of around 2500 acres is currently owned by government and the port trust has asked for transfer. The new port is likely to have a capacity to handle of 20 million tonnes of cargo - mostly bulk cargo. The entailed investment is likely to be in the range of Rs. 25,000 million.

Essar to modernize Paradip Port Trust

Essar Bulk Terminal Paradip Ltd (EBTPL) is planning to invest Rs.5000 million to for mechanization of central quay III berth taking the total capacity of the terminal to 30 mtpa. The project is likely to be completed by April 2011.
