Kerala which has many waterways has lost prominence over years. Cargo movement by waterway is ideal with congested roads and considering the importance 12^th finance commission has allocated Rs.2550 million. No progress had been made and the shipping ministry has called for state government to initiate steps to develop waterways. For more details, click here
