Andhra Pradesh plans to develop 13 minor ports

The government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to develop 13 minor ports on which will have a capacity to handle 200 million tonnes to aid development of the state. Odaveru port’s DPR had been completed and Bhavanapadu, Kalingapatnam and Narsapur ports are likely to be developed first and more ports are to be developed between Vizag and Kakinada. Currently, the state has Vizag a major port, Kakinada, Machlipatnam, Gangavaram, Krishnapatnam and other small fishery ports.
