Andaman & Nicobar Port Trust is to be formed with its headquarters at Port Blair is to be formed replacing the current Port Management Board, which is under the A&N administration. The union cabinet has approved the proposal to declare the A&N port as major port. The port is likely to be developed as a transhipment port such as Colombo, where majority of Indian cargoes are shipped. 69
